Song: News

No, this is not alright. It is not okay that the people of this country are so ignorant and so hateful.
For four years we put up with it. For four years we stood there under the lies and the deceit and we waited it out. We tried kicking and screaming but finally we all agreed, we will wait. So we waited to vote, to take over our government using the system. For four years we waited while blood was spilled in Iraq, through an administration lead by god, and while our personal and civil rights were whittled away.

Here is what we waited for: proof that in our country, all men are not created equal and those certain inalienable rights may be reversed with only 51% of the vote.

We waited and we voted, and we signed people up to vote. We called and reminded. We begged.

CNN said last night, no more 18-25 year olds voted in this election then did in 2000.
Why, why did we allow this, why did we take this step backwards. I still doubt this fact. And I know there was record voter turn out. We tried the system.

That is the bottom line: we tried the system, and the people of this country obviously cannot be trusted to uphold the constitution. So those who say it is not time to riot, not time for le Revolution, youre wrong. Our country is falling to pieces because of religious ideology and bloodlust. Never has it seemed more obvious that we have to fight.

FIGHT. Or suffer through another four years in which we lose our rights, step by step, hoping against hope that we can fix it all in 2008. Maybe we can make it through this, we think. Maybe we can work the system, next time, we try, but, admit it, we know this is just not so.

We have got to fight. Its not okay to be lied to, not okay to be treated like we dont pay attention, it is simply not okay.

Ive never been more disappointed by my country
